Valentine's Craft Ideas Stamped Pink Damask Valentines
Remember those cards you used to give as classmates growing up for Valentine's Day? Remember being ecstatic when someone gave you one back? Well, that sentimental feeling still rings true long after you've become an adult! These adorable and chic stamped pink damask valentines are easy to create and oh-so fun to give.
For this project, you will need:
- Plain white cardstock
- Matching envelope
- Heidi Swapp Clear Stamp Damask Stamp (found in stores or online at Create My Keepsake)
- Heidi Swapp Clear Stamp Words Love Stamp (found in stores or online at Create For Less)
- Large acrylic stamping mount
- Archival Ink Pad in Carnation (found in stores or online at Blockhead Stamps)
- Archival Ink Pad in Crimson (found in stores or online at Blockhead Stamps)
- Pink rubber stamp or fine grit sandpaper
- Hot pink or red colored ribbon, one quarter inch wide
- Scissors
- Scrapbook glue
If you are using brand new stamps, it is always wise to condition clear stamps first before using them. Clear stamps are wonderful for scrapbook projects but, due to of the material they are made out of, generally they try to repel ink at first use. Remedy this by gently scuffing the surface of each stamp using either a large pink rubber stamp or lightly using fine grit sand paper. Make sure there are no debris from this process left on the stamp before continuing.
Fold the white cardstock in half to create a card shape. Lay the card open and flat on your workspace. Cut a length of hot pink or red colored ribbon long enough to go across the front of your card and lay flat. Adhere using scrapbook glue.
Mount the Heidi Swapp Clear Stamp Words Love Stamp onto the large acrylic stamping mount. Press to the Archival Ink Pad in Carnation. Stamp the image directly onto the front of the card, overlaying the hot pink or red ribbon. Let the ink dry fully. Repeat this process on the outside of the envelope, minus the ribbon.
Mount the Heidi Swapp Clear Stamp Words Love Stamp onto the large acrylic stamping mount. Gently press to the Archival Ink Pad in Crimson. Open the inside of the card and imprint the word image on the inside of the card. Let all inks dry well before writing in your favorite sentiment and giving to your favorite Valentine!
