Halloween Craft Ideas that the Whole Family Can Enjoy Making Them Together - Here are 3 craft ideas that are simple and affordable. The materials can be purchased at any discount department store, craft/hobby shop, or dollar outlet.
Pipe Cleaner Spider and Web:
materials: pipe cleaners, four-hole buttons, stick-on eyes, synthetic spider web, double-sided tape. Step1. Bend a pipe cleaner into a V shape and push the base of the V up through one of the buttonholes until 1/2 protrudes. Bend the 1/2 in over the top of the button. Continue with remaining 3 pipe cleaners. Step 2. Shape legs by bending the pipe cleaner ends 1 inch from button and then again 1/4 inch from tips. Step 3. Use the synthetic spider web or you can use thin sheets of cotton batting to stretch across a doorway and anchor with double-sided tape to door frame. Set spiders in web their legs will stick easily to the fibers.
Easy Halloween Lanterns:
materials: Black card, orange tissue paper, glue, craft knife or sharp scissors. Step 1. For a large lantern, cut a 20x81/2 piece of black card, for small ones cut 19x5 piece. Step 2. On reverse side of card draw or trace desired pattern or design, remember wording has to be written backwards so it will read correctly when lantern is turned back over. Step 3. Cut out designs you have drawn. Step 4. Glue tissue paper over inside of card making sure to covering areas cut out. Step 5 Join card sides together to form lantern and glue together. Step 6. Stand a night light on a saucer and place lantern over the top. Safety First Warning: Only use night lights, and as with all candles, never leave a burning candle unattended.
Lollipop Spiders:
materials: Black pipe cleaners, Lollipops, Googly eyes, glue Step1. Holding 4 pipe cleaners together, center them at the base of the lollipop and wrap them around the stick once then you will have four legs of each side. Step 2. Bend pipe cleaner ends to form eight feet. Step 3. Glue on googly eyes to complete your lollipop spider.
These craft ideas are great to do with kids of all ages. They are inexpensive, easy and quick so they can be done at home with your family or with larger groups such as school class craft activities.
